What you see is what you get; if you focus on positive things, positive things will come your way. If you focus on negative things, negativity will come your way. Similarly, if you focus on differences between yourself and others, this is all you will see and notice and more polarization can occur in your life. Bhakti Yogi, and 1GOD.com Regular Contributor, Mahatma Das, explains this phenomenon vis-à-vis 1God.com’s slogan: Unite the Tribes.

As Mahatma Das discusses, in the world of religions, sects, and groups, there are many opportunities to disunite. This disunity, he says, is due to a tendency to focus on differences. The more we see we are different, the more difficult uniting is and the more the world feels separated.

Mahatma Das’ spiritual teacher, His Divine Grace, AC Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada said, “we should have unity in diversity”; meaning people of different faiths and backgrounds should focus on their internal unity instead of external diversity.

Spiritually United

We are all already spiritually united; we just don’t realise it – Mahatma Das

Difference is just an inescapable part of material nature, while unity is on a spiritual level. Everyone is naturally different than everyone else- some people are more intelligent, some are less. Some people are faster while some are slower. That’s just the way it is and will always be. However, this does not have to prevent unity. To unite the tribes means to unite that internal spirit that binds us all in our faith to love God, our divine friend, beloved, father, brother, spirit or whatever we may call him.
